20260916 - Prab G. - Support British Workers

Further to my post of 26th August 2026, on the topic of defense spending and spending in general being good for the country.

Here is a case in point.  

We must award the Portsmouth-based Airbus, the massive defence contract ahead of their American rivals, Lockheed Martin.  People believe in Andy Burnham because he comes across as a man of the people, a man of the workers.  He has told us that successive governments got it wrong. Here is a chance for this government to be right on target. We have the best brains and the best talent in this country, we need to use more of it.  When in doubt, the default situation must be to give the contracts to British companies, like Airbus.
